FINALLY! The Adventures of Superstripe - Part 2 is up! I'm sorry it took so long, and I assure you Part 3 will be up a lot quicker. If it's any consolation, this part is longer than Part 1. And it's cool.
Over a month after the last "Ask Slagar" update, I finally put up the last three questions for Page 11... and as a way of apologizing, and commemorating the Halloween season, I tacked on 5 bonus Halloween-themed questions! Collect 'em all! (I apologize in advance for spelling and grammatical errors, bound to show up as I typed this all up pretty late. I also apologize about the lack of any Superstripe updates, which I hope to strongly remedy VERY soon.)
Like I said yesterday, I've finally come up with a replacement for the terrible forums I've been using recently - the NEW STCP forums! There are a few ads, but it's definately an improvement... and I've also put a lot more thought into the organization and creation of these forums that I have when making those other STCP forums. Yeah, you know the ones I'm talking about. Those ones. Anyways, note that while guests can reply to threads in the four primary forums, only registered members can create new threads... and they also gain access to a whole new branch of forums!
Well, Halloween's creeping up on us once again... and to celebrate, STCP is unveiling a new game - the Haunted Abbey! Based on an old feature of an older Redwall website I owned, this downloadable game takes elements of old text based adventure games and a few breaks into an almost Zelda-esque "action" style of play, mixed them up with a Halloween theme and a Redwall feeling, and ends up with something fairly unique. I might take it down after it loses topicality (read: when November rolls around), so download it quick! Oh, I've also updated the STCP poll.
Yet another "Ask Slagar" update. By the way, I AM working on other things for STCP. Be on the lookout for the second part of "Superstripe", and... what's this? A new game? You'll just have to wait and see...
I'M NOT DEAD!
Nothing big today... I just fixed an error in TWRFE's design, put up a new award, and updated the links. I've also given this site a unique "favorites icon", in case you're interested in that sort of thing.
Ask Slagar has finally been updated, finishing Page 10! I also fixed a few bugs. But who really cares that? Present company excluded.
A new comedic saga has debuted in the Fanfiction section - the Adventures of Superstripe the Unrealistic! This is the on-going fanfic I mentioned earlier. I have some pretty high hopes for it, so... check it out.
With Dandin1's help, I've put the Vermin Invaders stuff back up! I've also created some new forums. Why not reuse the YaBB forums, as originally planned? Go to the forums and find out..
Today marks the grand re-re-opening of STCP! I'm not too sure about the stability of my new host, and I just changed a lot of stuff around, so there are probably some bugs floating around. E-mail me if anything's not working properly.
And here's the bugs I've found/that have been pointed out to me:
I updated "Ask Slagar" and the "Slagar Shrine"... but there's something much more important going on. STCP is facing yet another crisis! Read all about it here.
The Slagar Shrine is in working order (sans non-tribute stuff, which has been canned), and a lot of tributes have been added! And a few bugs were fixed here and there.
Er... is it too late to take back that whole "so-many-updates-in-the-summer" thing? In any case, "Ask Slagar" has been updated.
The first update of the Summer - "Ask Slagar" Page 8 has been completed! Unfortunately, there are 5 leftover e-mails... if you sent a question which still hasn't been put up, chances are it's being pushed to Page 9. Just be patient! Also, I put up a new Award, which can be conveniently found in the "Awards" section of "Other".
As a side-note, I'm thinking about ditching most of the Slagar Shrine, and only keeping the "Tributes" aspect. You may have noticed that I've been working on the "Shrine" since the beginning of the nelie.org website. That's mainly because I just can't get the Slagar "articles", so to speak, to look right. So, I'm probably just going to throw them out the window and make the "Shrine" solely a place for Slagar fan-stuff.
Here are a few things you can expect over the summer: a new, on-going fanfic, regular "Ask Slagar" updates, Redwall the Gathering, and more! (Maybe even a few -hidden- things... *cough*)
May 31st
Another great set of icons.
ALSO: if anyone sent anything to me through the "Tributes" form, please re-send it through e-mail. I'm having a bit of trouble with the form. Sorry!
Well, I still haven't had time to finish the Slagar "Shrine", but I've unveiled the best part of it (at least, I think) - the "Tributes" section! Now you can submit your Slagar fan-stuff and get it posted here! Currently, three tributes are up.
I've also posted some VI2 secrets at the forum, and will continue to do so every Saturday for a few weeks. So, keep checking!
Yes, I'm going to have to ask everyone to re-download VI2 AGAIN. I swear, if this happens again, I'm removing Time Attack.
If you missed the alert, everybody who downloaded VI2 should re-download and re-install it. There were some HUGE bugs that I just fixed. So, sorry about that. Oh yeah, I added a new VI2-themed poll. And coming next time, with any luck - the Slagar Shrine!
Fans of the Vermin Invaders series have been waiting... and waiting... and waiting some more for a new VI game for about a year... but no more.
Vermin Invaders 2 has arrived!!!
Not only does this mean that you all get a brand new, greatly improved Vermin Invaders game, it also means that people will stop bugging me about it - er, that I'll have more time to update the actual site! Right, what did I say? ;)
I hope you guys enjoy VI2. It's taken me a lot of time and effort, but I have faith that the fruit of my labors are sweet. =) Well, in comparison to Vermin Invaders 1... with was, in comparison to most games, was like a moldy peach, but still... ;)
Dandin1 has created a bunch of Vermin Invaders icons. You can find them here.
Also... I forgot to mention this for a few months, but STCP had it's first birthday in February. Hopefully, it'll stick around and have many more! =)
I hope none of you were fooled by that horribly obvious April Fool's Day joke... anyways, I've changed the Ask Slagar layout a little bit, forcing people to look at the rules before submitting questions. I'm also going to be enforcing the rules more strictly from now on. There have been too many people who just ignore the rules, and it's getting annoying. I've also added new questions to the column, and changed the poll question.
Today I had the greatest idea. I'm totally revamping Vermin Invaders 2 into an entirely new game - Space Vermin Invaders! An homage to the old Space Invaders series, in this game you'll defend Redwall from vermin not of this world. It'll take another year to change everything to the new format, but it's worth it, right? See the preview here!
Wow, I haven't updated in almost 10 days... I've been hard at work on VI2. Speaking of which, the VI2 Screenshots are back up (including a new one)! And I put up a new award. Nifty!
Finally, I've uploaded the Cruel Jokes! All three are back online. I've also added a new poll question, and I've started to archive updates. You can find a link to the Update Archive at the bottom of this page, if you feel somehow compelled to look at it. I updated the links page a bit, too.
Incidentally, I highly recommend Heroic Tails. It's a new Redwall tabletop RPG system (also playable online) that looks like a blast. It's creator, Beefaroni, is looking for people to participate in the first official game of Heroic Tails, so e-mail him if you're interested.
I added a couple new "Ask Slagar" questions... originally, they were for yesterday, but then it became today. *yawns*
I fixed a pretty big bug in Vermin Invaders DX, so re-download it if you want version 1.1. I might add something else to the site later today.
Tired of waiting for Vermin Invaders 2? Well, it still isn't quite finished, but I've got something that will tide Vermin Invaders fans over for a while. Introducing...
Vermin Invaders - Deluxe Edition!
This version contains an automatic saving system, a brand new Expert Mode, and much more! Click the link above to learn more. Anyways, sorry it's a day late, but hopefully, it was worth it. =)
Welcome to STCP 3.0, at it's new address - www.stcp.vze.com!
The background isn't the only thing that's been changed. Many sections have a new submenu system that will make navigation easier. Also, unlike STCP 2.0, which wasn't completely up when it was first reopened, more content has been added since the previous version! The Vermin Memory Match Game from 1.0 has finally been uploaded, and while the Slagar "Shrine" still needs a bit of work, there's now a preview of it up. The forums, guestbook, and my e-mail address has been moved into a new section - "Forums & Contact".
Did you hate the old XSOrbit forums? Well, so did I, but I could never get an uploaded forum system to work... until now! Introducing the STCP YaBB forums! These are MUCH better than the old ones, and I encourage everybody to stop by.
There are a lot of good things in STCP's near future - including the surprise I mentioned before. Thanks for sticking with STCP through all this trouble.
